Vansbrosimningen 2010


Vansbrosimningen eller Vansbrosimmet er en årlig konkurranse i langdistansesvømming i åpent vann som foregår i Vansbro kommune i Dalarnas län i Sverige siden 1950. Deltakerne svømmer 3 000 meter, herav 2 000 meter medstrøms i Vanån og 1 000 m i motstrøms i Västerdalälven.


Det første året, i 1950, deltok ti personer, hvorav ni fullførte. Fram til og med 1955 ble det ikke kåret noen vinner, men fra 1956 ble Vansbrosimningen en konkurranse. De første vinnerne var Göran Åberg (Örebro SS) og Elsa By (Falu SS).


I 1972 ble En Svensk Klassiker innført, hvor Vansbrosimningen inngår sammen med Vasaloppet, Engelbrektsloppet, Lidingöloppet og Vätternrundan. I 2010 var det 6 707 startende i hovedløpet i Vansbrosimningen.
