The Huffington Post is an American news website and political blog founded in 2005. On February 7, 2011, AOL announced it would acquire The Huffington Post for US$315 million.


The Huffington Post prints news stories and columns (called blogs) by celebrities, politicians, academics, and other well known people who have been invited to write for them.


The Huffington Post has around 25 million visitors each month and is the most well known political blog in the world.[2]Der Spiegel calls The Huffington Post the most important source of information for millions of Americans.[3]
