นางแบบ


นักเดินแบบ (คำว่า model ในภาษาอังกฤษมาจากศัพท์ภาษาฝรั่งเศสยุคกลาง modelle)[1] เป็นอาชีพอย่างหนึ่ง โดยใช้หน้าตาและรูปร่างในการนำเสนอผลงานทางด้านแฟชั่นและศิลปะสู่สาธารณชน โดยส่วนใหญ่มักจะเดินแบบในงานแสดงแฟชั่นหรือถ่ายแบบแฟชั่น โฆษณาต่าง ๆ คำว่า model ในความหมายนี้ยังมีคำแปลว่า นายแบบ (male model) หรือนางแบบ (female model)


ยังมีคำที่เกี่ยวข้อง คือ "โมเดลลิง" (modelling โดยที่แบบอเมริกันสะกดว่า modeling) ซึ่งหมายถึง กิจกรรมของโมเดลหรือการทำงานเป็นนายแบบหรือนางแบบ และคำว่า "พริตตี้" (pretty) ซึ่งหมายถึง นางแบบสินค้า
