গণনা (ইংরেজি ভাষায়: Computation) নামক পারিভাষিক শব্দটি দিয়ে এক ধরনের অপারেশনকে বোঝায় যা কিছু প্রারম্ভিক শর্ত দিয়ে শুরু হয় এবং যা কিছু নির্দিষ্ট নিয়মের সেট অনুসরণ করে একটি আউটপুট বা ফলাফল প্রদান করে।


কম্পিউটার সম্পাদিত গণনামূলক কাজগুলি গণনার সবচেয়ে সাধারণ উদাহরণ। এখানে প্রোগ্রামিং ভাষা দিয়ে কম্পিউটারকে অপারেশনের নির্দিষ্ট নিয়মগুলি ফাংশন আকারে প্রদান করা হয়।
