I currently have an issue with theme inheritance. My structure is as follows:

magento luma
|
-> Company Main Theme
|
-> Sub Theme 1
|
-> Sub Sub Theme 1
|
-> Sub Sub Theme 2
|
-> Sub Theme 2
[...]

I applied changes to font-sizes in Company Main Theme _theme.less.
This Changes apply to Sub Theme 1 and Sub Theme 2 with ease but not to Sub Sub Theme 1 and Sub Sub Theme 2. Sub Theme 1 and Sub Theme 2 do not have own _theme.less files.

My fix right now is to copy the -theme:less of company Main Theme to Sub Theme 1 and Sub Theme 2, wich is kind of inconvenient because I have to sync changes in Company Main Themes _theme.less into Sub Theme 1 and Sub theme 2.

Is there Something I am missing about multilevel theme inheritances? Or is this simply expected behavior? If expected is there possibly any convenient way to sync the font sizes without the need of copying _theme.less to all files?

Edit:
To Clarify: im overriding font sizes via Variables which are initially set in _typography.less
