Neith (ook Nit, Net of Neit) was ’n godin in die vroeë Egiptiese mitologie. Sy was die beskermgodin van die stad Saïs, waar haar kultus gesentreer was in die westelike Nyldelta. Sy word al tydens Antieke Egipte se 1ste Dinastie genoem.[1]


Sy was die godin van oorlog en jag en haar simbole was ’n boog, skild en gekruisde pyle. Haar simbole was ook dié van Saïs.[2] In haar gedaante as oorlogsgodin het sy die wapens van vegters gemaak en hul liggaam bewaak as hulle sterf.


Haar naam beteken ook water. Sy is mettertyd beskou as die verpersoonliking van die oerwaters van die skepping. In dié gedaante was sy ’n moeder- en skeppergodin.
