Gaga: Five Foot Two is a documentary starring American singer-songwriter Lady Gaga. It was directed by Chris Moukarbel. Gaga, her manager, Bobby Campbell, and Heather Parry (from the concert-promoting company Live Nation) are producers of the movie. It was released through Netflix at 12:01 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on September 22, 2017.[1]

Background |

Gaga held a press conference on September 8, 2017, at the Toronto International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada, after she performed in the city on her Joanne World Tour. She talked about the movie and said that she would take a "rest" after the concert tour was over. She wanted the movie to be objectively about her life and said that she would never be able to do so about herself.

The movie features Gaga creating her fifth studio album, Joanne, with British producer Mark Ronson throughout 2016 and preparing for her Super Bowl LI Halftime Performance that took place on February 5, 2017, at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. Gaga receives treatments for her chronic pain that has occurred since her cancellation of the Born This Way Ball world tour in 2012–13 because of a hip injury. Gaga revealed that she has fibromyalgia.[2] British singer Florence Welch (from Florence + the Machine) appears with Gaga while they record their duet, "Hey Girl", which became a song on the Joanne album.

Gaga’s family members make appearances, namely her parents, Joe and Cynthia; her sister, Natali; and paternal grandmother, who listens to Gaga's recording of the song "Joanne". Celebrities such as fashion designer Donatella Versace and singer Elton John appear to support Gaga’s Super Bowl performance, along with her friend Sonja Durham, who is battling cancer. Sonja eventually passed away in May 2017.[3]

Many of Gaga's songs are played throughout the movie, such as "Teeth" (from The Fame Monster), "Million Reasons", and "Perfect Illusion" (both from Joanne).

Reviews |

Currently, the song has a 71% approval rating on the review site Rotten Tomatoes.[4] It also has a 64/100 on Metacritic, meaning the movie has “generally favorable reviews.”[5]
